This week is now held to coincide with Tartan Day on 1st July.

The National Celtic Festival is Australia's largest and most diverse celebration of Celtic culture. Celts from around Australia converge on Portarlington over the Long Week-end in June.

Originated 1857. This one-day event celebrates the Scottish and Australian cultures. Activities include athletics events and the Maryborough Gift, highland dancing, highland pipe bands, brass bands, highland games, Australian Sheaf Tossing, concert bands, penny-farthing cycling, a street parade, an evening concert and a fireworks display.

Primarily a Pipe Band and Highland Dancing competition with some Highland Games. Small vendor and clans area. Maclean is a delightful Australian country town on the Clarence River on the NSW North Coast. Many of the electricity poles have been decorated with tartan designs.
