The largest Celtic music and cultural festival of its kind between Dallas & Phoenix. Scottish & Irish entertainers, vendors, games, dog events and more. Fri. 5-10:30 p.m. Sat., 9 a.m.-midnight. Sun. 9 a.m.-5 p.m.  Held at Odessa College, 201 W. University. 
 

A celebration of scots-Irish heritage.

The pipes will be skirling and the clans gathering as the South Carolina State Museum presents Tartan Fest, its annual celebration of Scottish heritage.   The theme “Scotland the Strong” will be highlighted throughout the day with new programs on Scottish weaponry, castles, bagpipes, falconry and heavy athletics.  The lure of the tartan will be explored with a Scottish fashion show, and guests will enjoy the always popular Scottish music and Highland and country dancing.

Festivities begin at 11 a.m. with special opening ceremonies on the Museum’s front lawn, including a parade of tartans and clan banners and the national anthems of Scotland, the United Kingdom and the United States.

The Committee was created in 2002 in order to organize New York City's Tartan Day Parade, help perpetuate Tartan Day and coordinate New York's Tartan Week activities. The Committee was founded by three New York based Scottish organizations: Saint Andrew's Society of the State of New York, New York Caledonian Club, and American Scottish Foundation.

The 2009 Las Vegas Celtic Gathering & Highland Games will be held on April 18-19, 2009 at Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs. The 2009 Games represent a five year milestone in the history of the Las Vegas Celtic Society.
